“In-the-Wall” Prototype sculpture

February 2014
The prototype for an “In-the-Wall” sculpture is now ready. This type of sculpture will be literally built into a wall, attached to the studs before the sheetrock goes on. Then the sheetrock gets installed around it. The sculpture is painted the same color as the wall. End result: It looks as if the wall itself undulates, in three dimensions.

Like all my mosaic wood wall sculptures, the design for these can be representational, metaphorical, or allegorical, and the design process is collaborative.

I look forward to my first opportunity to build one into an actual wall. If you know of a future wall where this type of sculpture might fit well, please contact me. If you are the owner or the designer of the wall, let’s make it happen!
