New commissioned wall sculpture, articles, and reception!

March 2012
Recently I completed a wooden wall mosaic that Dr. Michael Fortini of Merrimon Family Chiropractic commissioned for the clinic’s waiting room.

Carol Motsinger of the Asheville Citizen-Times interviewed Dr. Fortini and me about our fun collaboration; see her article here. And WNC Woman featured Roberta Binder’s longer interview with me in its March issue. You may read that here.

March 10 we had a well-attended reception for the sculpture; thanks to everyone who came!

After seeing and hearing about the exciting impact this installation has had on both patients and staff at the clinic, I am eager to work with other clients who have waiting rooms! A wooden wall mosaic can bring a room alive, with three-dimensional organic shapes, textures, and colors from the natural world. It has soothing, meditative qualities, and it can offer a point of gentle connection between patients while they wait.
